Summary

The Sith Lord ofThe Acolyteis a very cool addition to theStar Warsshow , but he ’s not my favorite character ; Lee Jung - jae ’s Master Sol is . Since the Sith Lord ’s identity was revealed inThe Acolyteepisode 5 , he ’s fundamentally stolen the show . The Jedi massacre he carried out on Khofar was breathtaking , and possibility about how he plays intothe Sith Rule of Twohave become more and more democratic . On top of that , the Stranger is an exceedingly cool character reference : everything about him , from hisnew prank lightsaberto hiscortosis helmetand gauntlet , has been incredibly interesting .

The Sith Lord has givenThe Acolytea lot of its amusement time value in the retiring few weeks , but he ’s still not the better part of the show . That purity goes to Lee Jung - jae ’s Master Sol , a fiber I have sincerely come to adore . There are a net ton of compelling things about Sol , from his similarities to another beloved Jedi - Qui - Gon Jinn - to the incredible acquirement with a lightsaber he display on Khofar . The reasonableness I think Sol is the respectable part ofThe Acolyte , though , is because of Lee Jung - jae , and what he brings to theStar Warsshow .

Here ’s everything you need to follow along with Star war : The Acolyte , from references and trivia to main takeaway from each novel episode .

Lee Jung-jae Has Given A Consistently Great Performance As Master Sol

The Stranger ’s presentation toThe Acolytebrought with it quite a flake of awe and spectacle , and while it was a high point of the show , it was n’t the highlight of the entire series . Lee Jung - jae as Master Sol , however , has been rattling throughout every episode . He ’s handle every one of his panorama perfectly , and he ’s the biggest reason I likeThe Acolyteso much . Nothing illustrates Jung - jae ’s acting artistry better thanThe Acolyteepisode 6 . That episode dedicated almost a full minute to a wordless performance by Jung - jae , and the show completely rely on him to give the Jedi ’s deaths actual meaning and effect .

Sol ’s wide orbit of emotions cement him asThe Acolyte ’s dear case , but that ’s only because Lee Jung - jae give the most telling carrying into action in the total show . The cast ofThe Acolyteis filled with tremendous actor , but Jung - jae has really made Sol his own , and he dead shines in the role . Carl Gustav Jung - jae perfectly delivers in every character Sol takes , from Stoic master to grieving begetter to terrible warrior and everything in between . I sleep together I ’m about to see something salient every time he comes on screen , andThe Acolytehas greatly profit from his performance .

Master Sol Is The Heart & Soul Of The Acolyte

The story ofThe Acolytecenters around Mae and Osha Aniseya , but Sol is still the good part . Sol feels three - dimensional to me in a show fill up with character who are less than dynamic . Many ofThe Acolyte ’s characters are drive by a single motivation or emotion . Mae is fuel by nothing but revenge and love for Osha , Qimir ’s entire purpose is to be nerveless and manipulative , and character like Jecki and Yord simply did n’t have a farsighted enough life to display a all-embracing range of emotions . Even Vernestra Rwoh , a well - established and beloved character reference , has only played a small role so far .

Jedi Master Sol is one of the lead part of The Acolyte , played by Lee Jung - jae . But who is Sol , and how does he link to the show ’s story ?

Only Osha comes tight to being as emotionally compelling as Sol , but I do n’t think she ’s matched the instruction Sol has overThe Acolyte . The chronicle may center on Osha and Mae , but everything that happens inThe Acolyterests on Sol ’s shoulder . He ’s the one vernacular connection between all the other character in the show , but he also gives the show its aroused appeal . Where other characters focus on furthering the plot , Sol givesThe Acolytea prospect to be introspective and turn in its emotional encroachment and themes . Additionally , without Sol , The Acolytewould descend victim to a problem it has only barely avoid .

The Acolyte Wouldn’t Be As Good Without Lee Jung-jae As Master Sol

Though thereview bombardment ofThe Acolyteand claims of " wokeness " disgrace them , there are some licit criticisms of the show . Its sequence palpate very shortsighted , there are some serious issues with pacing because of that , andThe Acolytehas been a very inconsistentStar Warsstory so far . It seems to switch between genre with each episode , going from mystery story to thriller to legal action to play . The constant alteration in tone threatened to makeThe Acolytefeel like several separated , semi - affiliated short films , but Lee Jung - jae was able-bodied to splice it all together .

Jung - jae is essentially the rock ‘n’ roll The Acolyte anchors itself on .

Because of Lee Jung - jae ’s mastery of every type of actingThe Acolytedemands of him , he ’s allow the show to get away with experimenting in so many different genres . Jung - jae is essentially the rockThe Acolyteanchors itself on . Even whenThe Acolyte ’s tonic shifts surround on jarring , it always had Sol there to provide the emotional core it necessitate to fall back on . This is also why I wish Sol so much more than the Sith Lord : the massacre on Khofar was coolheaded and devastating , but it would n’t have been nearly as piquant if Lee Jung - jae had n’t given consultation a reason to manage .

Lee Jung - jae ’s Master Sol does n’t just saveThe Acolytefrom succumbing to its issues , he also produce awe-inspiring moment , likeThe Acolyteepisode 5 , possible . He may not always be the coolest or most flashy eccentric , but he ’s almost always the most compelling . It ’s precisely because Jung - jae occupy in the weakly , slow bit ofThe Acolyteso well that the show can remain interesting long enough to get to the rightful fit part . Sol is the offensive destruction to the Stranger ’s signal caller : the quarterback arrive the extolment , but he would n’t even get the luck to give the ball without his linemen .

Master Sol is a heady , highly respected , sinewy Jedi Master , warm in the ways of the Force , who is going through aroused conflict .

I care a lot of whatThe Acolytehas to propose , and I think a lot of the experiment it has done with the typicalStar Warsformula has ante up off . I just also think that it would n’t have worked without Lee Jung - jae ’s Sol connect everything together . He keepsThe Acolytegrounded and comparatively focused , and he go on the show interesting enough to prevent the mystery of Brendok from feeling frustratingly sop up out . Lee Jung - jae as Master Sol is by far my favorite part ofThe Acolyte , and I ca n’t wait to see him nail it again .
