A newSt . Elmo ’s Firemovie could be in the works . The original 1985 cult classic movie was directed by Joel Schumacher and followed a group of young people who have a salmagundi of reaction to being newly stuff into adulthood after they calibrate from Georgetown University . Along with the stars ofThe Breakfast Club , theSt . Elmo ’s Firecastdefined the Brat Pack , a group of young role player who frequently collaborate on teen and Modern grownup motion-picture show in the mid to late 1980s .
PerDeadline , Sony iscircling the possibility of making a newSt . Elmo ’s Firemovie . or else of being a reboot , the moving picture would be a flesh of sequel or legacy continuation . Because of this , its production would be dependent on on the ability to reunite the entire main cast , namely Jonathan McCarthy , Rob Lowe , Demi Moore , Emilio Estevez , Judd Nelson , Ally Sheedy , and Mare Winningham . Reuniting The Brat Pack May Prove Difficult
It seems that the talks about a newSt . Elmo ’s Firemovie have come up about because of the popularity of the recentBrat Pack documentaryBrats , which premiere on Hulu on June 13 and ignite a resurgence of stake in the stars and their 1980s output . However , one nucleus component of the project , which was manoeuvre by Andrew McCarthy himself , is the fact thatmany of the stars ask bother against being dubbed Brat Packers . In fact , several , including Judd Nelson , did not appear in the documentary at all .
