Summary
Nine year after Rey and Kylo Ren were first introduced inStar warfare : The Force Awakens , the franchise has found their double-dyed surrogate inStar warfare : The Acolyte . Rey and Kylo Ren ’s acute , spectacular connexion was the spirit of theStar Warssequel trilogy . Though the picture show did n’t really reveal how massive their connexion was untilStar war : The acclivity of Skywalker , their intrinsical king and adherence played a pivotal role in the galaxy – not just in the fight betweenthe First Orderand the Resistance , but within the Force itself , too .
As revealed inThe ascending of Skywalker , Rey and Kylo Ren were two half of aForce Dyad , an super rare phenomenon in the Force . Through this bond , they were able to communicate straight in the Force , heal themselves and those in demand , and more . Sadly , there was never any sentence to properly search their bond within the subsequence trilogy , as Ben Solo died before they had the luck to truly get to fuck one another . However , Star Wars ’ latest show , The Acolyte , has just revealed another opportunity through which the franchise can explore this piece ofStar Warslore .
The Acolyte has at long last premiered on Disney+ , featuring a massive collection of exciting Easter eggs and references in the first two sequence .
The Acolyte Hints Osha & Mae Are A Force Dyad
InThe Acolyte ’s two - episode premiere , it is strongly implied that Amandla Stenberg ’s type , OshaandMae , are a Force Dyad . Osha and Mae are identical Twin ; when they were younger , their whole village was destroyed , and they were the only two survivor ( though neither knew the other had survived until years later , during the event ofThe Acolyte ) . While Osha was taken to the Jedi Order and trained as a Padawan before eventually deciding to leave , Mae was likely picked up by a Sith Master , educate as an acolyte , and rate to place and obliterate certain Jedi .
In both ofThe Acolyte ’s opening episodes , Osha receive visions in which she sees and speaks to a younger version of Mae . These aspect are spookily reminiscent of ace inStar Wars : The Last JediandThe Rise of Skywalker , in which Rey and Kylo Ren can see , speak to , and even rival each other in their respective environment , even if they ’re on whole dissimilar planets . ThoughThe Acolytehas yet to substantiate it , these parallels can not be a concurrence . Mae and Osha ’s chemical bond as Twin and as Force - users crap them being a Force Dyad all the more likely .
Star Wars Lore Hints All Dyads Need Both Light & Dark
Very little has been revealed about Force Dyads , though canon tie - in cloth , like the comic seriesStar Wars : The Rise of Kylo Renby Charles Soule , have shed some Inner Light . Above all , it seems thatForce yoke are drug-addicted on both the light side and the dark . A Force Dyad represents an equal correspondence . InThe Rise of Kylo Ren , it ’s implied that the Force Dyad shackle only came into existence once Ben Solo turn to the dark side , as though the Force wanted them to find that balance together .
Osha represents the light , Mae represents the darkness , and the Force bonded them again once it was necessary , just like it did with Rey and Kylo .
The same could now be say for Osha and Mae . Before Mae vote down her first Jedi , Osha had no idea that her sis was still active . It was n’t until afterMaster Indara ( Carrie - Anne Moss)died that Osha had her first visual modality of Mae . If the murder of Master Indara was the first moment Mae unfeignedly fell to the blue side , it would explicate why Osha was n’t able-bodied to feel her until then . Osha represents the light , Mae represent the dark , and the Force bond them again once it was necessary , just like it did with Rey and Kylo .

The Acolyte introduces the titular character as a Jedi killer , with secluded motivations and Sith computer code providing reasons for the gruesome murders .
The Sister Dynamic Works So Much Better For A Force Dyad
Though Rey and Kylo Ren ’s Force Dyad bond was undeniably compelling , their lives were utterly unconnected before the Force pushed them together . There ’s no history there ; before they met , there was no sense of loyalty , erotic love , or even friendly relationship . Their bond spring up from violence and hate into something more . Though that made for great storytelling and interesting character development , they were essentially a clean ticket . The story could regulate their relationship precisely as it needed to .
Mae and Osha ’s moral force is much more complicated . As sisters , and more specifically as twins , they already have an unbreakable bond . They already deal a past , and a violent one at that , but it ’s clear that they both still care about each other profoundly . Mae was really surprised and moved to see her babe in the build , and when Osha had the chance to bedaze Mae , it seemed like she purposefully missed the jibe .
In one of Osha ’s visions , a jr. Mae says"Always one but born as two . “This is the perfect way to describe a Force Dyad – two souls brought together as one within the Force .

As twins , it also seduce sense for the Force to bond them together evermore within a Dyad . Luke and Leia ’s relationship makes it clear that , despite Leia ’s comparative inexperience with the Force , she ’s still capable to smell out Luke whenever he is in suffering or his emotions are otherwise heightened . The same is now probably genuine for Osha and Mae . If they do indeed make up a Force Dyad , it will be interesting to see how that affects their connection with the Force , how Mae ’s shadow bear on Osha , and vice versa .
The Force Dyad May Explain Why The Sith Are Really Interested In Mae
One mysteryThe Acolytehas yet to solve is how and why Mae ended up asa Sith acolyte , working for a Sith Lord . If they sensed that she was part of a Force Dyad , or even if they just believe that the potential for that power was there , it would make sense that the Sith would do anything to moderate that powerfulness themselves . Palpatine was for certain concerned enough in Rey and Kylo ’s adhesiveness inThe lift of Skywalker .
Again , precious little has been reveal about the true nature of a Force Dyad , but it has been said that its power is nifty than that of life itself . This makes mother wit , pay that Rey and Kylo were able to heal each other repeatedly , and Kylo was even able-bodied to give his life to resurrect Rey , essentially shoot down destruction . The Sith have always been research for more power , canvass the ways of the Force to find anything that will give them greater mastery .
If the Sith believed that having the two half of a Force Dyad on their side would help them accomplish their goals , then they ’d have stopped at nothing to chance upon them .
Darth Sidious and his own Master , Darth Plagueis , for representative , were obsessed with immortality . Who ’s to say other Sith were n’t haunt with that construct as well ? rein the power of the Force , and ruling the extragalactic nebula with an smoothing iron fist for eternity – that ’s all the Sith ever wanted . If they believe that having the two halves of a Force Dyad on their side would help them achieve that goal , then they ’d have hold on at nothing to come upon them .
InThe Rise of Skywalker , Palpatine speak of another Dyad in the Force , though he believed it existed millennia before . It ’s entirely possible that he was wrong , of class , or that the Sith never truly found out whether Osha and Mae were , in fact , a Force Dyad themselves . SinceThe Acolytetakes place 100 days before the effect ofStar Wars : Episode I – The Phantom Menace , and so much Jedi and Force knowledge was block or suppressed during that sentence , anything is potential . Star warfare : The Acolytemay very well have just introducedStar warfare ’ second - ever Force Dyad .
