Star Wars : The Acolyte ’s newfangled Sith Lord ’s greatest – and most dangerous – strength is also the Jedi ’s greatest weakness . The Acolyteepisode 5 , “ Night , ” revealed that Mae ’s ( Amandla Stenberg ) bumbling partner , Qimir ( Manny Jacinto ) , was her Sith Master . brute , deadly , and incredibly brawny , Qimir manage to easily overcome over a dozen Jedi on Khofar , butcher them in a bloodshed unlike any see before inStar Wars . Clearly , Qimir is powerfully connected to the gloomy side – but that is n’t the only affair that take a shit him dangerous .
Where episode 5 give away just how physically endanger Qimir was , The Acolyteepisode 6 , “ Teach / Corrupt , ” showed how clever he was . The Sith Are Master Manipulators
The Sith are , traditionally , consummate manipulator . They get under their antagonist ’ skin , picking at their most volatile failing , offer their meter until the perfect bit to strike presents itself . Palpatine , of course , was extremely canny in this esteem ; he manipulate the Jedi Order into taking part in an unwinnable war , and he claw at Anakin ’s insecurity and despairing penury for honey until the young Jedi succumbed to the sinister side . Qimir , too , cook Mae by hiding his real identity and promote her motive for revenge . But now , with Osha ( Amandla Stenberg ) , he ’s using a unlike approach .
The Acolyte’s Sith Lord Is Capable Of Empathy – And That Makes Him Dangerous
Generally , the Jedi and the Sith want an important social skill : empathy . While the Sith are force back by their own emotion and capable to recognize them in others , they use those emotions to their advantage – it ’s all part of the handling . On the other hired hand , while the Jedi are capable of fellow feeling , the aroused space dictated by the Jedi Code does n’t allow them the place to in truth empathize why someone is feeling a certain way . They can sense concern for another individual ’s well - being , but that ’s not the same . Qimir , however , does n’t seem to share the Jedi and the Sith ’s deficiency of empathy .
Qimir experience that Osha is n’t easily deceived . If he wants her to stay , if he want her to become his pupil , then he needs to be completely veritable with her and touch base with her on a rich storey .
Instead , he ’s unnervingly open and honest with Osha . He reveals that he used to be a Jedi , too , and that he interpret what it ’s care to be thrown away by them . He appreciates her demand for freedom and association and tells her all this while still giving her the choice to leave . Qimir lie with that Osha is n’t easily deceived . If he want her to stay , if he wants her to become his school-age child – and perhaps something more – then he needs to be completely authentic with her and tie in with her on a deep story .

He does n’t pity her or see her emotions as weak – he values them because he feels them , too . He ’s lonely , she ’s lonely . Underneath it all , they both want to feel like they belong to to something or someone . He is , of path , party score her to the dark side – he take a shit himself vulnerable while bathing so that she knows what he ’s telling her is the Sojourner Truth – but he is n’t offering her anything he ca n’t actually allow . Emotionally speak , Star Wars : The Acolyte ’s Sith Lord is a Modern , more dangerous type of threat .
